The home we believe in
ATELIERR Design Studio architecture firm Budapest, architecture, interior design, family house construction, renovation, passive house designWe don't just design. We ask questions, listen to the answers, and create spaces where everyday life becomes easier and more beautiful.
A building is not a goal, but a tool
Many think an architect's job is to draw beautiful houses. We believe an architect's job is to understand how a family lives, what they need, and what home means to them.
That's why every project starts with a conversation. We don't work from template floor plans. We start from your rhythm of life. Where does the family have breakfast? Where does looking out at the garden feel right? Which room catches the afternoon sun?
This kind of attention gives birth to solutions you can't pick from a catalogue. Details that you only realize years later how much they matter.
Energy efficiency is not a compromise
Many imagine an energy-efficient house as a grey, boxy structure with small windows. The reality is the opposite. Passive house design gives freedom: larger windows, simpler building services, lower running costs.
We don't design energy-efficiently because it's trendy. We do it because a well-insulated, smartly ventilated house is simply more comfortable. Warm in winter, cool in summer, and running costs are a fraction of a conventional building.
We hold design licenses in both Hungary and Romania, and our certified passive house designer qualification guarantees that energy calculations are built into the design from the very first line, not added as an afterthought.
We don't just design. We stay with you.
One contact person, start to finish
We don't hand your project off to someone else halfway through. The person who listens to your ideas at the first meeting also leads the design supervision on site. You never have to re-explain everything.
Decisions in 3D, not on paper
We present every concept design as an interactive, rotatable 3D model you can explore online. You don't have to imagine the living room from floor plans. View it, rotate it, and if something doesn't feel right, we adjust immediately.
Technology-neutral approach
We're not committed to a single building technology. Traditional brick, adobe, timber frame, CLT panel: for every project, we recommend the system that's the best solution based on the plot, needs, and budget.
We handle the paperwork
Permit applications, authority consultations, electronic administration: it's all our job. You can peacefully focus on your own things. If questions arise, we answer the municipality.
From family homes to public buildings
Family home design
Designing new family homes from first sketch to handover. We pay special attention to plot characteristics, orientation, and natural light conditions. Our projects can be found from Lake Balaton to Debrecen.
Renovation & interior design
Transforming existing apartments and houses where the goal is not just renewal, but rethinking the floor plan. Material selection, furniture design, and lighting from a single source, balancing functionality and aesthetics.
Public & industrial buildings
Design of office buildings, educational and industrial facilities where scale and usage demands require a different approach. Sustainability and efficient space utilization remain core principles.
We don't just build, we also teach
Our founder, Rozália Bálint, regularly gives guest lectures at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Óbuda University, and the University of Pécs. Her teaching focuses on eco-architecture, sustainable material use, and energy-efficient design.
This dual role is not coincidental. Those who teach must stay up to date. Those who research cannot settle for conventional solutions. Our clients benefit from this level of rigour in every project.
In others' words
Our work regularly appears in Hungarian architectural and design media. Octogon Magazine featured our own home, Építészfórum highlighted our prefab project, while WELL, Otthon Magazin, and Lakás Trend have spotlighted our interior design work.
These features are not the result of PR campaigns. The editorial teams approached us because our projects show something new: that energy efficiency and refined design are not enemies.
Those who work with us once usually come back
We don't ask our clients to recommend us. Yet we regularly receive enquiries through people we've worked with before. For us, this is the best feedback: when someone is happy to entrust their friends and family to us too.
